Our school is a beautiful, bright and friendly environment where pupils can learn and grow. All our spaces have been created to instil curiosity and develop a love of exploration and learning but don't be deceived by what you see from outside.

Don't judge a book by its cover...

Our tardis-like facilities are located in the heart of New Eltham and our proximity to Greenwich and Central London means that children can experience this beautiful part of London as a classroom. What also makes us so unique, however, is our secret allotment at the back of the school.

Inspiring spaces

We have rejected the outdated belief that children have to sit in straight lines on single desks and have created forward-thinking, calm spaces that encourage academic learning, as well as collaboration and creativity. Our classrooms are more than simply functional: they use space, light and resources to inspire both teachers and pupils.

Our Secret Allotment

The jewel in our crown is our amazing Allotment. The Allotment is set directly behind the school, with a gate that magically connects the space to our school grounds.

This access to outdoor space means that we are able to run an innovative, bespoke outdoor learning curriculum, emphasising outdoor learning and the importance of environmental responsibility.

Come rain or shine, the outdoors is an integral part of daily life at St Olave's Prep School. Children enjoy fun, hands-on, practical experiences as a part of the curriculum throughout the year.

By using the garden as an extension of the classroom, we help our pupils develop enquiring minds and nurture their curiosity about the greater world around them.

Sporting life

Pupils use the fantastic on-site facilities including our Multi Use Games Area and the main school hall for PE, gymnastics and dance lessons.

As pupils progress through the school, they take part in games off-site. Children go to the nearby Eric Lidell Centre for swimming lessons annually from Year 2 and Games lessons for Years 3-6 take place at Footscray Rugby Club, a short 10-minute walk from school.

Getting to St Olave's

St Olave's is very conveniently located close to many public transport links. New Eltham station is just a 7 minute walk away and the 160, 162 and 314 bus routes stop on Southwood Road, very close to the school. Bus stops for the 233, 321 and B13 routes are also less than 10 minutes walk away.
